LILY Terms of Service

These Terms of Service set forth the expectations between LILY and its users. Users must agree to these terms in order to use LILY's services.

4. Relationship Between User and LILY
These Terms of Service govern the relationship between you and LILY. LILY provides a research platform as well as computing resources, data access, and tool access for scientific and academic purposes.
5. What LILY Expects from Users
- Compliance with the Terms of Service as well as additional service-specific terms.
- Respect toward other users: No violations of laws, harassment, or manipulation of other users.
- No misuse of the platform: No unauthorized use of resources or security breaches.
- Uploading copyrighted content is prohibited.
6. Rights to Content
- Content created or uploaded by users on the platform remains their property.
- Users can make their content public or license it.
- LILY reserves the right to perform anonymous analyses and further anonymize public data.
7. Use of the LILY Platform
- Everyone can access the platform: universities, companies, and individuals.
- Registration is currently via a demo version; further information will follow.
- Currently, there are no paid services; this may change in the future.
- Different user roles exist, with detailed definitions to be provided later.
8. Intellectual Property and Use of Research Results
- The intellectual property of research results depends on the classification and licensing of the user.
- Commercial use is permitted within the scope of an appropriate plan.
- Users are required to cite LILY as a source in scientific publications.
9. Data Protection and Data Usage
- LILY adheres to the EU Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Ethical Guidelines for Open Research.
- Stored data includes standard information such as name, email address, and, if applicable, payment details.
- Users can delete or export their data at any time.
- Access to stored research data depends on licensing and user settings.
- LILY performs regular backups to secure data.
10. Measures in Case of Violations
- Deletion of content if it violates laws or the Terms of Service.
- Suspension or termination of accounts in cases of repeated or severe violations.
- Legal actions against abuse, cyber attacks, or violations of the Terms of Service.
11. Protection of the Platform and Prohibition of Reverse Engineering
- The structure, features, and content of LILY are protected by copyright.
- Reverse engineering, cloning, rebuilding, or copying the platform or its features is strictly prohibited.
- Any attempt to rebuild, reproduce, or analyze the platform or parts thereof without authorization constitutes a serious violation of these Terms of Service and will be pursued legally.
- LILY reserves the right to initiate civil and criminal proceedings in case of violations.
12. Dispute Resolution and Applicable Law
- Disputes are subject to German law.
- Users have the option to approach a standardized mediation body.
13. Amendments to the Terms of Service
- LILY may amend these Terms of Service and will inform users accordingly.
- Users have the right to reject the new terms and close their account.
